I really disliked Riker growing up, you know that? I thought he was stupid and annoying and at best, totally boring. I was a complete Picard fangirl (I still am, obvs) and I had a crush on Data and later I kinda had a weird thing for Worf (if he’s good enough for Dax…) but it wasn’t until I hit my upper 20s that I really started to appreciate Riker. Now he’s just glorious. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve changed or if I’ve just admitted to myself that I’ve liked goofy fluffy dudes all along or if Riker, like a fine wine or a moose pelt, improves with age.
